Harold Oxsen

(When we were seniors he came to Acalanes High School and taught math and coached JV basketball and JV football.) July 1922 – Feb. 1, 2014 Harold passed away quietly at home, after a short illness. The loving given to Harold was long and strong, while the suffering mercifully short. Harold lived in Walnut Creek, CA and taught math there for 44 years until retirement and then moved to Santa Rosa. Music, learning, travel, athletics, and fun were sources of joy in his life. He was preceded in death by his sister Lois Baker. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Gene; and his children, Margi Vonk, Doug Oxsen and Carolyn Oxsen; and his adopted children, Beth Schmidt and Tsion Alemayehu. He has 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held at the First Presbyterian Church of Santa Rosa on February 15th.
